When picks lock
The four lock modes, and how auto-pick fills the gaps.
The four lock modes
Box pools don't use these. A grid closes when the owner locks a full grid or the first covered game kicks off, whichever comes first — unclaimed squares just stay empty.
Standard (default) — early games lock at kickoff, everything else locks Sunday 1pm ET. Touchdown Calls defaults to per-game locking instead.
At each game's kickoff — every game locks on its own. The most flexible option.
At first game each day — each day locks at that day's first 1pm ET (or later) kickoff. An earlier game, like a Sunday morning international game, locks on its own instead.
At first game of the week — the whole week locks at the first kickoff. The strictest option.
Choosing one
Set in the Pool Settings card on the Manage tab. Locks once your pool's first week opens, so decide before the season starts.
Auto-pick
Pick'em, Best Bet, and Confidence can auto-fill missing picks: Home or Away, plus Favorite or Underdog for against-the-spread pools. Set it in the pool's Rules card.
It fires when a game locks, which isn't always that game's kickoff — under Standard, Sunday night and Monday games auto-pick at the Sunday 1pm cascade.
Different from Quick Fill, which members use to fill their own sheet anytime before the deadline, auto-pick or not.
High 5, Margin, Survivor, and Touchdown Calls have no auto-pick. A member who misses a deadline loses those games, not necessarily the whole week.
What PikSheet doesn't do
- Lock mode can't change once the pool's start week opens.
- No per-week or per-game exceptions to the lock deadline.
