What Is One and Done Fantasy? The Pool Format Only PikSheet Runs

Fantasy football and survivor pools have run on separate tracks for as long as both have existed: draft a fantasy roster and manage it all season, or pick one NFL team a week and never touch it again. One and Done Fantasy is what happens when those two formats actually merge, and it's a format you won't find outside PikSheet.

How it works

The rules borrow from both parents:

• Every week, fill a full nine-slot lineup: QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, Flex (RB/WR/TE), K, and D/ST.
• Players score real fantasy points under the pool's scoring format — standard, half-PPR, or PPR — set once by the commissioner at creation.
• Once you start a player in any slot, he's done for the season. No re-starting him next week, no moving him to a different slot later.
• Lineups lock per player at kickoff, or earlier if the commissioner sets a stricter lock. A slot you forget to fill just scores zero.
• Regular season only — weeks 1 through 18. Highest cumulative fantasy points after week 18 wins the pool.

It plays like survivor, without the elimination

Classic survivor punishes one bad week with your whole season. One and Done keeps survivor's real engine — a shrinking pool of usable assets — but drops the sudden death. A bust week from your Flex costs you that week's points, not your entry. Nobody's mathematically out in October, so the whole field stays engaged through week 18.

That's also what makes it harder than normal fantasy. In a redraft league, a bad week is over as soon as it happens — start the same running back again next week and hope for better. Here, every start is permanent. Burn your best tight end in week 3 and he's off the board for the fantasy playoffs push, whether you meant to spend him there or not.

Strategy: budget players like survivor budgets teams

• Plan bye weeks months ahead. Every team's bye takes a chunk of that week's usable players off the board — know which byes are stacked before you spend your best options on an easy week.
• Don't burn your best receiver in the Flex just because he's convenient in week 2. Save the difficult weeks for your deepest position, not your best player.
• K and D/ST refresh on matchup and weather more than name value — a top defense against a bad offense isn't worth more than a mediocre defense against a worse one.
• A committee backfield rarely repeats a big week. A clear lead back is worth more here than raw name value, because you only get one shot at him.

Why nobody else runs this

Building this format means owning two pieces of infrastructure most sites only have one of. Fantasy platforms — ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper — score real player stats but have no concept of a pick that permanently removes a player from your options; that's a survivor-pool mechanic, and standard fantasy leagues have no use for it. Pool-hosting sites — Splash, OfficePoolStop, Sunday Survivor, ALA Survivor Series — run the no-reuse mechanic for team picks, but none of them ingest live player-level fantasy scoring to run a nine-slot lineup against it.

PikSheet already had both, from building Survivor and Margin pools on one side and real-time NFL scoring on the other. One and Done Fantasy is what falls out of connecting them. Right now, it's the only place you can run it.

One of nine formats, in one app

One and Done Fantasy isn't a standalone product bolted onto PikSheet — it lives in the same app as Pick'em, Confidence, Margin, Survivor, High 5, Best Bet, Touchdown Calls, and Box pools, under the same commissioner account, with shared invite links and standings history.
