# NBA One and Done Fantasy Pool — Rules, Scoring & Hosting

**NBA One and Done Fantasy:** Set an NBA lineup every week. No player twice.

Fill a 3- to 8-slot NBA lineup each week and score every game your players play. Once a player locks in, he's used for the season.

## How it works

1. Each week, fill the pool's lineup: 3 to 8 slots of G (guard), F (forward), C (center), and UTIL (any position). The default is G, G, F, F, C.
2. A player scores PTS + 1.2 × REB + 1.5 × AST + 3 × STL + 3 × BLK − TO in every regular-season game he plays that week, added together.
3. Each slot locks when its player's team starts its first game of the week, even if he sits that game. Until then you can swap him for anyone whose first game hasn't started.
4. Once a player locks into your lineup, he's used for the rest of the season — no reuse. Only players whose team plays that week can be picked, and empty slots score zero.
5. Most total points across the season wins. Equal totals share the place — there's no tiebreaker.

## One week, default G/G/F/F/C lineup

1. G plays 3 games: 81 PTS, 15 REB, 24 AST, 4 STL, 1 BLK, 9 TO → 81 + 18 + 36 + 12 + 3 − 9 = 141 points
2. C plays 4 games: 70 PTS, 48 REB, 12 AST, 3 STL, 8 BLK, 10 TO → 70 + 57.6 + 18 + 9 + 24 − 10 = 168.6 points
3. F sits all week with an injury → 0 points, and he's still used for the season
4. Week total: all five slots added together. Season standings add the weeks.

## How to win

- Count games, not just names. Weekly points add up every game a player plays, so a good player with four games often outscores a star with two.
- Steals and blocks are worth 3 points each, so rim protectors and ball-hawking guards score better here than in a points-only format.
- A questionable star is a real risk: his slot locks at his team's first game whether or not he plays, and he's used for the season either way. Check the injury report before that first tip.
- Plan your stars around the schedule. You can save players into future weeks — saving a player reserves him there until you move him — so map out the weeks when his team plays four times.

## What the commissioner controls

The lineup is editable until the pool opens and the week range is set at creation; there's no lock-mode setting, because every slot locks at its player's first game of the week.

- Lineup: 3–8 slots of G, F, C, and UTIL (default G, G, F, F, C)
- Start / end week (regular season; the whole season by default)
- Entry fee (optional — you collect, we don't touch it)
- Max entries per member

## Frequently asked questions

### What is an NBA one and done pool?

In pool terms, 'one and done' means each player can be used once per season — it has nothing to do with the NBA draft's one-and-done college rule. In NBA One and Done Fantasy, you set a lineup of 3 to 8 players each week, they score fantasy points from every game they play that week, and once a player locks into your lineup you can't use him again. Most total points across the season wins.

### Is the scoring PRA (points + rebounds + assists)?

It's a weighted PRA with defense: points + 1.2 × rebounds + 1.5 × assists + 3 × steals + 3 × blocks − turnovers. Plain PRA counts points, rebounds, and assists once each; this formula pays more for rebounds and assists, adds steals and blocks, and subtracts a point per turnover. A 25-point, 10-rebound, 5-assist game with 1 steal, 1 block, and 3 turnovers scores 25 + 12 + 7.5 + 3 + 3 − 3 = 47.5.

### When does my NBA lineup lock?

Slot by slot. Each slot locks when its player's team starts its first game of the week (weeks run Monday through Sunday), even if he doesn't play in it. Until then you can swap him for any player whose team's first game hasn't started.

### What happens if my player sits out?

His slot still locks at his team's first game, and he's used for the season. He scores whatever he records in the games he does play that week; if he sits the whole week, the slot scores 0.
